Hello, I am Li Zhang. I am running for City Council of Mountain View 2022.
I immigrated to the United States in 1991, seeking new opportunities to live my best life. I moved to Mountain View in 2001, and fell in love with the city for its diversity, progressiveness, and high quality of life. My husband and I have been raising our son while working in the tech and science sector for most of my career and being involved in community service.
Throughout my education and career, I have focused on utilizing technology for innovative and breakthrough solutions to our many societal challenges. I have been a force in bringing all parties together to create realistic and pragmatic solutions for extremely complicated problems.
Accelerating efforts to combat climate change is of utmost importance. I will use my expertise as a scientist, finance, and project manager to navigate our city towards an environmentally sustainable future in a responsive and fiscally sound manner.
As a graduate of the City of Mountain View’s first Chinese Civic Leadership Academy, I am inspired to run for City Council to bring a fresh perspective to the decision-making process. I will use my experience and skills to listen to our neighborhoods, work collaboratively with all stakeholders, and make wise investments in our city’s services and infrastructure to maintain our high quality of life. I would be honored to have your vote on November 8th.
